Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MindRenew (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the MindRenew application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email, password (hashed), role selection.
  • Profile information: ministry/church name, leadership role, journey type.
  • Reflections and check-ins: text you enter in the Journal, Practice, Weekly Check-in, Pastoral, and Completion screens.
  • Support requests and pastoral notes created within the platform.
  • Research data (only if you opt-in to the Research Consent): de-identified responses tied to an anonymous research code.
  • Technical data: session tokens, device type, basic logs needed to operate the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the app and deliver the Personal Renewal Journey and Pastoral Care Journey.
  • To route support requests to assigned pastors and admins.
  • To produce de-identified research and program evaluation data (only if you have consented).
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse.

3. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database (Supabase). Access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) so that participants can only see their own data, pastors can only see assigned participants, and admins/researchers can only access data permitted by their role.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. Identifiable data is not shared outside the platform except as required by law. De-identified research data may be exported by authorized researchers using an anonymous research code, never your name or email.

5. Your Rights

  • Access, correct, or update your information from your Profile.
  • Withdraw research consent at any time.
  • Request account deletion via the Delete Account page or from your Profile.

6. Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal reflections, profile, and support content are removed. Limited records (e.g. audit logs, de-identified research data already exported, and information we are legally required to keep) may be retained.

7. Children

MindRenew is intended for users 18 years and older.

8. Not a Medical or Crisis Service

MindRenew is not therapy, clinical counseling, psychiatric care, medical treatment, or crisis intervention. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified mental health professional.
